What we’re about
We are OpenValue. We love to share our Knowledge. Join us for cool sessions about new technologies, Java & more.
Why do we make our knowledge available free of charge?
One of the corporate values of OpenValue is "Knowledge Sharing". In our fast-paced community, we all learn best from each other how to use and implement the latest techniques. Everyone can contribute towards the advancement of our community. This can only work by exchanging knowledge via networks, conferences, meetups and webinars. Moreover, as experts, sharing knowledge challenges us to become better and better at recognizing current trends and following their development.

Agenda
- 18:30 Arrival, food & drinks
- 19:00 Three Exciting talks
Talk 1:
"Rate my Pizza: Cooking custom metrics and traces with OpenTelemetry" by Enis Spahi (Architect Consultant at OpenValue)
OpenTelemetry auto-instrumentation is a great start for observability, but the default metrics and traces don't always answer the real questions. In this interactive session, we'll explore custom instrumentation through a live pizza rating application, with audience data visualised in Grafana.
We'll look at metric types like Gauge, Counter and Histogram, and learn how to enrich traces with the context that really matters.
By the end of the session, we'll settle the ultimate question: what pizza does the audience prefer?Talk 2:
"Breaking Kubernetes for fun and profit" by Ali Alp (Distinguished Software Architect at Brainlab)
Kubernetes is complex, powerful… and surprisingly easy to mess up. In this talk, we’ll take a guided tour through the dark alleys of Kubernetes misconfigurations, privilege escalations, and real-world attack vectors. You’ll see live demos of how attackers exploit innocent-looking setups — and more importantly, how you can detect, prevent, and recover from them.Talk 3:
"Grafana Drilldown – queryless satisfaction" by Basti Schubert (Solutions Engineer at Grafana Labs)
In this talk Basti will cover the drilldown features that help you navigating your metrics, logs, traces and profiles without learning to write queries.- Metrics Drilldown is the way of browsing Prometheus-compatible Datasources without the need of writing PromQL
- Logs Drilldown lets you automatically visualize and explore your Loki Logs
- Traces Drilldown helps fetching insights from Tempo traces data
- Profiles Drilldown assists you in exploring your profile data that is stored in Pyroscope
