We're wrapping up 2025 with a fantastic movie. In Benh Zeitlin's 🇺🇸 "Beasts of a Southern Wild", we get a chance to experience the world once more through the eyes of a child - or, if you can remember, your own younger self.

Hushpuppy, the 6 year old protagonist, takes us along in the aftermath of floods and how to understand and deal with a sick parent. She does this the way kids do: With imagination ✨. As an audience we don't just get to see things from her point of view - "Beasts of the Southern Wild" makes Hushpuppy's reality ours.

The actress playing Hushpuppy, the 5 year old Quvenzhané Wallis, delivers a phenomenal performance. NRK's reviewer gave Benh Zeitlin's "Beasts of the Southern Wild" a 6/6, especially nothing Wallis' performance as the heart and soul of the movie. And he wasn't the only one: reviewers everywhere note how Wallis brings uumph, guts and a boisterous energy that carries the film.

The film also went on to win the 🏆Caméra d'Or at Cannes 2012, and the 🏆Grand Jury Prize: Dramatic at Sundance that same year. An insanely impressive list of wins for Zeitlin's debut film!
