After a long and ☀️ filled summer, it is now time for blankets, hot drinks, and, of course, good movies 🎬!

Opne Auge returns for our Fall/Winter semester, and this time we're doing things a little bit differently. Instead of announcing our films one by one, we are sharing the ⭐️full semester agenda⭐️ right at the start! We hope this helps you plan for/around our screenings, and that we will see many of you this upcoming semester 🫶

Now, to the movie.
What do the Beijing 2008 Olympics, stray dogs, and someone being released from prison have in common?
Yes, exactly: Black Dog.

Black Dog (2024) is directed by Guang Hu 🇨🇳 and shows how much the world can change when you've been in prison for 10 years - especially if that is in China, where development sometimes seems to go faster than the country can keep up with itself. Despite the abandoned cityscapes and the strong Western / film noir themes, there is an undeniable feel-good element in Black Dog, with the relationship between protagonist Eddie Pang and his adopted dog Xin as main focus.

ℹ️ Trigger warnings: No actual dogs were harmed in the making of this movie, but some dogs are portrayed as treated poorly and/or suffering.
ℹ️ Language: Mandarin Chinese, Norwegian subtitles
