Hi, I'm a normal person... and I've opted out.

Perhaps you, too, have discovered that your habitual rejection of the default has cast you as one or more of the following unpopular archetypes:

The Sovereign Individual: You are increasingly wary of the proliferation of state-mandated panopticons masquerading as public safety. You are, undoubtedly, a deGoogled proponent of GrapheneOS, hardened distros, cash, Monero, and encrypted communication.

The Terminally Offline: Digital sabbaticals are unnecessary; you simply do not create accounts. You cherish a profound dread of the usual dialogue dictated by algorithmic feeds and "binge-worthy" series.

The Cypherpunk: You build privacy- and anonymity-preserving tools. And then there's the state, which, of course, demands you ship with a "lawful intercept."

The Quantum Realist: You are a mathematician or physicist haunted by the hard problem. Your department will not fund it. Your co-authors will not sign it. But you're always banging on about it anyway.

If this sounds uncomfortably familiar, I'd say you ought to attend... but you probably don't like being told what to do.

We shall meet in person. There will be no livestream. No hashtags. No photography. We shall speak, listen, and perhaps even think. If this sounds dreadfully old-fashioned, that is rather the point.
