ORCLAPEX NYC Meetup - October 2015

Details
Welcome to ORLCAPEX NYC's October 2015 meetup! This meetup will consist of several lightning talks that will be around 20 minutes each. We're still finalizing the content, but we wanted to create this event ASAP so that you could plan on attending. Here's what we have planned so far...
Josh Millinger will present on Integrating APEX and SQL Server.
Tim Chambers - Front End Builds in APEX: Application Express comes with tens of thousands of lines of CSS and JS: all of which has consistently and efficiently churned out with just a few commands. In this talk, managing complexity in build scripts will be covered by discussing the merits of frameworks like GruntJS and GulpJS and non-front end build scripts written in Python, Perl and Bash.
Dan McGhan - Custom UIs with JavaScript and APEX_JSON: Generally speaking, it's best to use the native components (forms, reports, etc.) within APEX to build out applications. There are, of course, exceptions to this rule. Sometimes it's best to spend some extra development cycles to build a UI that provides a more targeted user experience. Luckily, a little JavaScript and some work with the new APEX_JSON package can go a long way!
Marc Sewtz will present something awesome!
Also, we'll be giving away a free copy of the recently released book: Expert Oracle Application Express, 2nd Edition. Hope to see you there! :)
Note: You must RSVP for this event and seats are limited. Please RSVP with your full name and bring matching ID for security. Please do not RSVP if you are unsure that you will be able to attend. If you do RSVP and are no longer able to attend please change your status so that someone on the waiting list may take your place.
