What to Bring: Water, comfortable lightweight hiking shoes, sunscreen, hat, and jacket as appropriate.

Time: Meet by 8:45 AM. We will begin hiking promptly at 9:00 AM.

Parking:
$3 per vehicle or OC Parks Annual Pass. Parking can fill up quickly, so arriving early is recommended. Nearby street parking available - expect a bit of a walk to the trailhead if this option is chosen.

Description: Peters Canyon is a true staple of OC hiking and a great option for moderate to intermediate hikers looking for a rewarding and scenic morning outdoors. This 5.7 mile loop takes us through rolling canyon terrain with wide open views, peaceful overlooks of the Peters Canyon Reservoir, and a mix of shaded and exposed sections. The trail is well maintained with mostly easy terrain and a few short, steeper climbs that add a bit of challenge without being technical. We will move at a steady, comfortable pace with short pauses to enjoy the views.

Restrooms: Available at the trailhead.

Lunch: Immediately following the hike (probably about 11:30), we will be having lunch at Wise Guys Pizzeria at 7606 E. Chapman Ave. in Orange.

Rain? Also if it rains or the trail is closed due to wet and muddy conditions, we will still meet for lunch. Note: Trails may be closed for up to three days following rain.
