Dark Sky Stargazing and Geminids Meteor Shower Viewing

This year's Geminids Meteor Shower peak falls on a New Moon, with a d ark sky that promises to be the best show in years.
Join us at one of the the darkest spots close to Orange County accessible by car, the Blue Jay Campground, located a few miles off Hwy 74 above lake Elsinore., less than a one hour drive from Irvine.
We will have a spacious campsite for viewing, and there are other spots within the campground we can walk to. We will have a table where people can make hot food and beverages. Telescopes welcome.
The event begins at 6pm, and arrive anytime after that you wish. The meteors will last all night but peak between 10pm and 2am. In addition to the meteors we will have plenty of stars and the milky way to see.
The campsite number will be sent to confirmed participants before the event. Those who wish to camp overnight, indicate so in your RSVP.
*** WHAT TO BRING
Headlamp with a Red Light and spare batteries, Ground Cloth, optional sleeping bag, warm clothing layers, gloves, warm hat, warm beverages, snacks, camping gear if you are camping.
Temperatures will be in the 40s and dip into the 30s by midnight.
