We're excited to announce the first Oracle APEX Meetup in the UK! Whether you are local to Leeds or from further afield, all APEX addicts are invited to attend this event.
Space is limited so please make sure you RSVP. Payment can be made in advance via Paypal (preferred method) or in cash on the night but please make sure if you are no longer attending you change your status to make space for someone else and help us manage the food order.
The idea behind this Meetup is to gather together like-minded people to discuss and share ideas about Application Express, while giving newcomers to the APEX world the opportunity to see what it has to offer.
The highlight of this first event will be a presentation by Anthony Rayner.
Anthony is a Principal Software Developer on the Application Express (APEX) team at Oracle. After joining Oracle in 2005 in Technical Consulting, Anthony moved over to the APEX team in 2008 and has helped develop features like Dynamic Actions, Interactive Reports and also leads the ongoing focus on accessibility. Anthony graduated from Plymouth University with a 1st Class Honours Degree in Computing in 2004.
Anthony will be showing you the awesome APEX 5.0, with tons of new features and a completely new and streamlined approach to development. This will include in-depth demonstrations of 'Page Designer' (the new, rapid IDE-style way to define your APEX pages), 'Universal Theme Roller' and 'Template Options' (fully declarative application styling), and more.
The event will include a Panel Q&A session so please come loaded with your burning questions to test the knowledge of our panel members!
We have a flexible arrival time anytime between 6.00 and 7.00, allowing people to come straight from work or from further afield.
• 6.00 - 7.00 - Meet and Greet with Pizza and Refreshments
• 7.00 - 7.10 - Welcome
• 7.10 - 8.15 - Presentation by Anthony Rayner on APEX 5.0
• 8.15 - 8.25 - Break with Refreshments
• 8.25 - 8.55 - Q&A Panel with APEX Experts
• 8.55 - 9.00 - Close
We will be heading for a beer afterwards, of course all are welcome to join us (Venue TBC). Unfortunately, due to limited funds, your beer bill will be your own!
Why isn't it free?
This event has been kept at the lowest cost possible. The cost will only be used to cover the room, food and refreshments. If any funds are left over, they will be used for the cost of future events. We are also looking for sponsors for future events so please let us know if you are interested.
