An Introduction to Gnosis

Who are we?
Where do we come from?
Where are we going?
What is the purpose of life, the reason we’re alive?

Many people think it is impossible to really know the answer to these questions, so they either don’t try, or they end up having to choose between the many competing, contradictory belief systems that seem to give an answer.

Gnosis is a word that means knowing or knowledge: the kind of knowledge that we get from direct experience, from seeing something face-to-face, from finding out for ourselves.

Throughout history, the Gnosis traditions of the world have taught that it is possible to know the answer to these mysteries, and that the doorway to this knowing is not belief, but self-knowledge through the practice of meditation.

The Northwest Oregon Gnostic Society will be giving an Introduction to Gnosis course over the four Thursdays in December those who are interested in finding out more.

Each evening of the Introduction to Gnosis course will include a discussion of the timeless principles of Gnosis as well as a simple, progressive meditation practice.
