Flörgåsbord! (A social with 4 free bowling lanes!)

Details

New social meeting for your calendar! (and hopefully a new annual tradition)

We're calling this "Flörgåsbord" and it'll be on Tuesday 19th December from 6:30pm onwards

Stuff to know...

The room - We've booked a private room for this event, in the centre of Newcastle-under-Lyme, that hold up to 40 people from 6:30pm onwards until closing... it's upstairs from the Vue cinema and you can find exact directions in the 'How to find us' section.

It's FREE - We're pickup up the bill, it's an incredibly small bill anyway (we're familiar with the management) and so don't worry about it.

There's 4 full sized bowling lanes - The room has 4 bowling lanes which are ours for the whole evening for unlimited free play, 6 people at most to a lane.

It's a social - Just like any of our past socials, there will be places to sit and just chat (no loud music!). Not everyone will be bowling anyway, so don't feel like you have to. Should be plenty of conversations about digital rights and the latest developments for a catch up!

There is food and drinks - The venue has a new kitchen serving hot food (so no need to eat before coming out) as well as offering drinks... we've put a copy of the details of the food and drink offered by the venue at this link... click here

Open to all in ORG, the LUG, and FSF - So a great mix of people in one social... but you're also welcome to bring friends and family too. The only thing we ask is that you RSVP if you're coming as we need to be sure it'll be under 40 people. So don't worry if it doesn't look like many are coming, as this has gone out to other groups too.

It's a veritable Flörgåsbord! - We were trying to merge the acronyms FSF/LUG/ORG and got "Florg" which got compared to the word Smörgåsbord (a Swedish buffet) and so we made it Flörgåsbord instead (as a buffet of local technology groups!).

Making up for lost time - With the confusion over the normal room we ran presentations this year, it's good to get back on track again with a meeting... there wasn't any reason we couldn't have had a social earlier really... it's just that a lot of us were so busy packing things up that it slipped our minds.

I'll update this shortly with details on parking (although if you've ever parked at cinema you'll know), food, drinks, etc...

Please only RSVP to say you are coming... if you're REALLY intending on coming... as we want an accurate count of numbers.
