Community Makers: Picnic for Peace

Details
What will happen at this Meetup?
Meetup organizers create amazing community across a variety of topics, but we all have shared experiences.
This Meetup is a space for all community makers to gather, meet and learn from one another in Brisbane!
- Make friends with organizers across all Meetup categories
- Share your experiences and learn from others
- Celebrate your unique communities
To respect everyone’s schedule, please inform the organizer if you think you’ll be more than 15 minutes late.
What will we be doing?
Bring a blanket and picnic to commemorate the centenary of the end of the First World War with a day of food, entertainment, music and films for you and your family to enjoy. Take part in one minute's silence at 11am to pause, reflect and pay respects to the brave men and women who have served, sacrificed and suffered so we can enjoy the freedom we have today.
Enjoy performances from the Birralee Singers, the South Brisbane Federal Band (The Feds), Tim Jackman, a live reading of Elaine Acworth's My Father's Wars and more. There will also be guided conservation tours and fun interactive children's activities throughout the day.
Show up and find your people!
Please reach out to the Meetup Community Experience Team if you have technical support questions or site feedback. They’re your best resource for the right answer!
