Vancouver Meetup Channel (Casual drop in chat every Friday 7PM)

Dear Vancouver Organizers,
As COVID19 is forcing Vancouverites to go indoor, the organizer community is looking at different ways to keep the Vancouver meetup community going through online means.

Inspired by Shy Meetup's work to create an online channel, we've worked with local organizers to launch the Vancouver Wide Chat channel on the Discord Platform to allow meetup groups to keep their members engaged.

How to make the most of the Vancouver wide meetup community chat channel:

2- Share the link to your meetup group (as an event)
3- Get to know other people in the discord community.

A- Organizers Private Chat Room
Connect with other organizers and share best practices on how you are building community during this time. Feel free to plan with fellow organizers on what you can do for events once it is safe to start gathering again. Open to organizers, co-organizers and assistant organizers.

B- Dedicated chat room for YOUR group.
if you want a dedicated chat group for your meetup group, send me a message and i can create one for you.

C- Needs channel.
This is a channel for those who have needs during this time and we would like fellow meetupers to support one another during these uncertain times.

This is a massive experiment in the making and we do hope that we can help as many people as we can in the area of community building and addressing isolation in Vancouver.
