What we’re about
This group is founded on the idea that the world is changing rapidly, in many ways. This means new paths need to be created for this new future.
Our first goal is to bring like minded people together. I find it hard to have fun when I have to pretend everything is ok. If you’re an optimistic realist, someone who acknowledges things are bad but still wants to build something better, this is your place. We’re not doomers, not idealists. Just people doing something about it while enjoying good company.
The second goal is to conduct low-stakes experiments and trial runs of new business or social models. What works for one of us strengthens all of us. An entire new world needs to be built. There is endless space for and endless need for experimentation.
The third goal is to normalize new ways of living or thinking. Instead of trying to convince people something is possible, make it possible. Right next to them.
If you’re tired of trying to convince people that better methods exist, this is for you. But if you just want to go back to how things were a few years ago, this isn’t your group.
OG has aspirations to be a social-economic enterprise. 100 years ago there were many strong social organizations which brought great benefits to their communities in the hard times they found themselves in. Most of those organizations still exist but no longer achieve the results they used to. Time for new groups to rise to the challenges of the new times.
This group was founded by someone who is an American veteran and transgender woman. She left the military world a decade ago to try and warn of the coming political, environmental, and economic issues which are now becoming reality.
