**Travelling the Girl Guide Way**
Many of Ottawa’s Girl Guide units travel abroad, from Europe to South America. The East End Travel Group, heading to Finland and Estonia in 2028, is stopping by to talk about their preparations, what they’re most excited about, and how the Guides will be travelling. And yes - they’ll be bringing cookies!

**United Arab Emirates & Oman - Big City Big Desert**
Dr. Andrew McKinley will present on his recent trip to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Oman where he visited Dubai, Muscat, the UAE’s expansive desert, and Oman’s gorgeous wadis (desert canyon oases). Highlights include the Burj Khalifa, camel races, and Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque. Andrew will also discuss the rare wildlife he encountered including wild Arabian Oryx, Arabian Gazelles, Mouse Tailed Bats, and Zebra Sharks.

**Deborah** **Suddard** has been part of Girl Guiding since she was a girl herself and has led all levels, from Sparks to Rangers. She served as National Team Lead for the international camp Guiding Mosaic 2016 in Alberta, and is currently a Trainer specializing in camp programming and communications.
She is currently leading a group of 40 girls and 9 Guiders as they prepare for their 2028 trip to Finland and Estonia, helping them grow in confidence, leadership, and a sense of adventure through their Guiding journey.

**Dr. Andrew McKinley** is a biologist who runs his own ecology consulting company in Ottawa. He has lived and worked in Panama and Australia, as well as across Canada. Andrew is a dedicated and adventurous traveler who is always looking forward to his next trip. He is a wildlife expert and can tell you where and how to find almost any animal in the wild. He has seen and photographed many of the planet's most iconic wildlife. Andrew continues to travel several times a year in pursuit of his 'Most Wanted' species. He also has a strong interest in history, sightseeing, and culture and appreciates the human environment as much as the wilderness.
