Dear writers

Looking forward to seeing you at the next Tuesday's Original Writers Group. This workshop will focus on 'Using 1st or 3rd Point of View'. It is being presented by Joe Humphreys, one of the group organisers. To add interest to the evening, Joe has sent me two extracts he'd like us to read and rewrite. Here is an extract written in 1st POV. You may recognise the book it was taken from. Have a go at rewriting into 3rd POV. Click here to download the extract. And here is the second extract. It is the beginning of a story written in 3rd POV. Click here to download the extract. (https://docs.google.com/document/d/15WlKg0mjDaqZyeX9eGKUjLaaO5ekJpetYWKP0FKrG6E/edit?usp=sharing)

Group News

Congratulates to Qudsia Mirza for being selected as one of the London Library's Emerging Writers. (https://www.londonlibrary.co.uk/emerging-writers-launch)

Her beautiful stories of life in Pakistan have attracted attention within the group. She saw the invitation from the London Library and sent in one of her short stories. It just goes to show that you have just got to put your work out into the world.
