About us
The Orisa Study Group – St. Louis is a virtual learning circle dedicated to the serious study of the Yoruba spiritual tradition of Esin Òrìṣà Ìbílẹ̀. This group is designed for thoughtful, self-motivated individuals who desire more than surface-level information and are ready to engage deeply with ancestral knowledge.
The group is managed by Baba Obasina, an Ifa and Obatala priest trained by Oloye Fasola Odunade, Baba Solomon Omojie, and other elder priests in the Isese practice (Traditional Yoruba West African Religion).
Through guided readings, curated videos, and structured discussions, participants explore core foundations of Orisa practice, including cosmology, ethics (ìwà), ritual understanding, and spiritual self-development. The study group serves as both an educational environment and a discernment space—bringing together individuals who are committed to disciplined learning, respectful dialogue, and gradual spiritual growth.
This is not a casual discussion forum, but a focused circle for those who wish to build a strong intellectual and spiritual foundation. The goal is to cultivate a small, trusted community prepared to move from study into embodied practice, cultural reconnection, and eventually participation in festivals and ritual life.
The Orisa Study Group is the continuation of building a rooted and responsible Orisa presence in the St. Louis metro area—grounded in wisdom, integrity, and ancestral light.
