For a spooky Halloween treat, let’s depart from the Brontës (only momentarily!) and read The Woman in White.

The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins is a mystery novel that follows the story of Walter Hartright, a drawing teacher who encounters a mysterious woman dressed in white, leading him into a web of secrets and conspiracies involving his student Laura Fairlie and her villainous fiancé, Sir Percival Glyde.

Because the book is approximately 600 pages long, we’ll skip a September meeting (although I’ll gauge interest in maybe doing a small reading for September, like some of the juvenilia or Emily’s poems).

I’ve set the location for Foxtail in Oviedo BUT, as Halloween is my favorite holiday, I might want to host this one at my house (also in Oviedo). We’ll see!
