We’ll chat about past and present trends in what data teams are chartered with and what teams and individuals look for in data tools. As trends have evolved, so has the tooling we built to serve needs. I split data workflow tools into three generations based on their primary goals, capabilities and levels of abstraction. We’ll also discuss data products, their SLAs and the increasing need for data freshness. We’ll end with where we’re headed with the third generation of workflow management tools and dream up the “right level of abstraction”.
