Bio:
Stephen C. Jett was born in Cleveland, Ohio, holds an A.B. in
Geology from Princeton and a Ph.D. in Geography from Johns Hopkins.
He is Professor and Chair Emeritus of Geography and of Textiles and
Clothing, University of California, Davis. He retired in 2000 and
now lives in his wife's hometown in Virginia. Jett is author or
co-author of half a dozen books, including on Navajos
and the Navajo country. His most recent (2017) is Ancient Ocean Crossings: A Reconsideration of the
Case for Contacts with the Pre-Columbian Americas (University of Alabama Press). Steve has lectured
widely in the U.S. and overseas.
