Are you stuck on a maker project? Do you need help with circuits, soldering, 3d design, or programming? Do you simply need ideas to get you started? Or, are you bored and curious about what other people are making? Come to the Fab Lab at the Melrose Center. Every Saturday 3-5, we now have an Ask A Tech: Fab Lab. Bring your projects, questions, and curiosity. An instructor will be available to try and assist you.

What You Need
• Registration for the “class” (taken on a rolling basis)
o Either free with the library card
o Or an out-of-county registration for $10

• Signed waiver (good for the week)
o One for 18 and over
o One for under 18 parents must sign before they are allowed in

• A project/idea/question/etc

What We Have
• A Fab Lab Instructor to either answer your questions, or point you in the right direction

• PC Laptops with 3D design software (123D Design, Makerbot Desktop) and Programming software (Arduino, Processing, Python, Scratch)

• Makerbot Replicator 3D Printer
o Prints are limited to 1 hour
o Payment must be taken before prints
o Prints cost 35cents per gram

• Makerbot 3D Scanner
o Scans are limited to 30 mins
o Scans are free

• Silhouette Cameo Cutter
o Must bring own material
o Can choose either markers or the blade
o Cuts are free

• Soldering Irons
o Must be approved by the Fab Lab Instructor
o Only two people can solder at a time

• Assorted Hand Tools
