Training Talk & Potluck

Details
We are really excited that so many people seem to love the idea of athletes meeting when we aren't working out!
This meet-up will be held at "Little Hall," on a lake in Winter Garden. This is a city rec facility / meeting space, but is actually like a little house with a screened porch. There will be tables and places to sit.
We would like to have this meeting be a "training talk," where a few members share their training plans, challenges, and goals. The idea is to inspire each other to keep going!
We will also be eating -- but please either bring food for a group, potluck style (let us know in comments what you might bring), OR just bring your own sandwich or sub (which is the only way to guarantee you eat!). If you don't have time to get food, you are welcome to provide a $10 donation instead. The organizers will bring some snacks & drinks for everyone. There will be tables, a refrigerator, and places to plug-in.
At this meeting, we would like to have a few people stand up, and talk about their training goals, races, challenges, tips, etc. We will ask for volunteers -- and probably can only handle 4-5 speakers, at about 10 minutes each. Of course, if no one volunteers, then we may just eat and talk together. :)
Please do not plan ANY sales pitch presentations. (We are NOT in the business of selling anything fitness-related; we are just looking for new friends who are committed to their fitness and training plans.)
(We hope to do this "training talk" regularly, so you can always speak at a future event if we run out of time.)
If you definitely know you want to speak, you can send me an email before the meet-up to secure a spot (twillis16@gmail.com). Otherwise, we will just ask for volunteers when we get started.
To past participants: we formed this group several months ago, but have had difficulty finding a meeting space that we felt would be a good time for people to attend. So we greatly apologize for the delay in scheduling future meetings. The good news is that we have found two spaces that we think will be good on an ongoing basis. So we hope everyone will try to attend.
Please (pretty please) do not RSVP unless you are fairly sure you will be attending. We are new to organizing meet-ups so would greatly prefer knowing what to expect, in terms of attendance. That being said, please schedule as soon as you know you will attend, so that everyone attending will have incentive to join us!
Some people mentioned in the comments last time that "age is just a number." We agree. We are masters level athletes, although anyone of any age is welcome to attend.
We ARE trying to find people who are seriously committed to fitness -- and the hope is to inspire each other to keep going with our goals! This might include distance runners, cyclists, and triathletes. The organizers are distance runners & cyclists.
Thanks to everyone for joining -- we are really looking forward to meeting everyone. :)
