Comparing Stoic Philosophy and CBT (Part 1) + After Party

Details
This is the Monday night meeting for Orlando Stoics. It's online.
This week we are exploring CBT (a form of Psychology) and how its techniques compare to Stoicism. The web has many articles on CBT, but we'll focus on Donald Robertson's article called "Stoic Philosophy as a Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy". It provides an important summary of the history, the great thinkers, and the 17 major techniques, which can be linked to Stoicism. Example techniques are "Dichotomy of Control" and "Separating Judgements from Events". This should be an in-depth discussion, so we're likely to continue this topic for a second week.
After the regular meeting (at 8:30PM), we'll have our "after party". It's optional. We're getting to know each other better as friends. Last week, the "after party" was very funny.
Reading material
As usual, I'll prepare an outline of discussion points, so you don't have to read the articles or watch the videos in advance.

Our group enjoys open-minded, respectful conversations on Stoicism and how it relates to science, culture, philosophy, other belief systems, and even pop culture (books and movies). Sometimes "we agree to disagree", but the long-term goal is to improve our minds via group discussions.
In general, Stoicism teaches us how to handle difficult people and events, how to avoid anger and worry, and overall to use moderation in all aspects of our lives.
This meeting is free and open to the public.
