Meet Our Speakers -
MJ Soileau is the University Distinguished Professor of Optics and photonics, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Physics at theUniversity of Central Florida. He was the first director of UCF’s internationally recognized Center for Research and Education in Optics and Lasers (CREOL). In 2016 he was named to the Florida Inventors Hall of Fame in recognition of his innovative research in the advancement of high-energy laser optics.

Jason Eichenholz, Co-Founder and CTO of Luminar Technologies, is a serial entrepreneur and pioneer in laser, optics and photonics product development and commercialization. Over the past twenty-five years, he led the development of hundreds of millions of dollars of new photonics products. Jason is also a CREOL Alum, having earned his M.S. and Ph.D in Optical Science and Engineering from there. At Luminar in Research Park, he leads a team of relentless optimists and fearless problem solvers who tirelessly design, build and deliver the future of LiDAR. Their vision is to make autonomous vehicles safe and ubiquitous.
