SESSION 2:

Why I fell in <3 with NestJS by Jason Byrne

A strongly-typed and opinionated framework drives bug-free and maintainable code. Building our APIs with TypeScript and NestJS has been a tremendous blessing for our team. I will discuss our experience moving to NestJS from a legacy platform, cover the core concepts of the framework, and then dive into some code.

About Jason

Jason Byrne is the CTO at Echelon Fitness and leads their Orlando-based engineering team. Echelon is a connected-fitness startup that manufactures spin bikes, treadmills, rowing machines, and the Reflect mirror. He helps lead product/engineering teams including Android (Kotlin/Java), iOS (Swift), Web (Angular/NestJS/TypeScript), data warehouse/ETL pipelines (BigQuery), DevOps/Cloud Infrastructure (AWS/Kubernetes/Terraform), and quality assurance (Flagpole).Prior to joining Echelon, Jason was the VP of Engineering at FloSports for the previous eight years. He sold MileSplit to FloSports in 2013, after growing the pioneering track & field network into the top high school sports web site in the country.
