SESSION 2:

Why I fell in <3 with NestJS by Jason Byrne

A strongly-typed and opinionated framework drives bug-free and maintainable code. Building our APIs with TypeScript and NestJS has been a tremendous blessing for our team. I will discuss our experience moving to NestJS from a legacy platform, cover the core concepts of the framework, and then dive into some code.

About Jason

Jason Byrne is the CTO at Echelon Fitness and leads their Orlando-based engineering team. Echelon is a connected-fitness startup that manufactures spin bikes, treadmills, rowing machines, and the Reflect mirror. He helps lead product/engineering teams including Android (Kotlin/Java), iOS (Swift), Web (Angular/NestJS/TypeScript), data warehouse/ETL pipelines (BigQuery), DevOps/Cloud Infrastructure (AWS/Kubernetes/Terraform), and quality assurance (Flagpole).Prior to joining Echelon, Jason was the VP of Engineering at FloSports for the previous eight years. Jason founded [MileSplit.com](http://milesplit.com/) in 2001 when he was in college. He sold MileSplit to FloSports in 2013, after growing the pioneering track & field network into the top high school sports web site in the country.
