The Secret Lives of Western Pond Turtles

Take an easy 3 mile total out-and-back hike into a closed part of the preserve to observe western pond turtles. We'll pass through a riparian corridor to a large reservoir teeming with aquatic life and home to numerous pond turtles. At water's edge we'll observe pond turtles plus a variety of seasonal insects including colorful dragonflies. Dress in layers, wear sturdy shoes, and sun production, bring water and a snack if you would like to stop and have a picnic lunch.
