For many of us this is a stressful time. A time of uncertainty which undermines our peace of mind. Come enjoy an antidote to anxiety and stress with this small group day trip. We will participate in an afternoon exploration of Forest Bathing with Nature-based therapeutic coach Kayla Nickells. Forest bathing walks are designed to open the door to the healing properties of nature and finding peace and calm within. Unlike a typical nature walk or hike, forest bathing focuses on slowing down, tuning into your senses and deepening your connection with the natural world through all of your senses. This is accomplished through a series of simple, sensory experiences led by Kayla.
This event is relevant for all who are interested in developing their connection with the natural world and learning to utilize nature to calm and center the mind and body.
OSC member, nervous system coach and Yoga therapist Sandy Eimers will be our host for this day trip. She will lead the group to and from the event location.
Our Schedule
10:30am - meet at the main train station in Setubal. We leave Setubal by train, walk a short distance to catch a bus to Serefina and then walk 11 minutes to the Mesas de pic-nic in Parque de Monsanto
NOTE: we recommend you purchase your Navegante card (temporary) in advance of the day to avoid delays if you don't already have a card.
Noon - picnic in the park. Each participant is responsible for bringing their own picnic lunch and drinks
1pm - Kayla will introduce us to Forest Bathing and lead a 2-hour walk with a series of exercises to heighten our senses and deepen our experience. This walk will be done in silence so every participant can develop their own connection with nature. It will be an easy walk through a beautiful forested area. At the end we will be treated to tea.
3pm - free time for personal contemplation or sharing your experience with other participants
3:30 pm - We will walk to the bus stop and begin our journey back to Setubal
NOTE: in the event of rain we will reschedule for May 15th. Please keep that date open.
FEE: 15 euros for the presenter, to be paid in advance
