Weekly Meditation (every week)
Details
Seriousness has been misunderstood as sincerity. Seriousness is a sickness. A serious seeker searches for truth with sadness, with a burden on the head. He is not interested in the pilgrimage.
Life is eternal, so there cannot be a final goal. All ideas of goals clash with the notion of eternal life. If life is eternal, then every moment should be enjoyed as if you have already arrived. Each moment is a goal in itself. Do not wait to rejoice until you reach a goal—that kind of goal does not exist. Use every moment as if you have arrived. It is always as if you have arrived. You are always arriving now.
Existence does not seem to want you to be serious. I have not seen a serious tree, a serious bird, a serious sunrise, or a serious starry night. They all seem to be laughing and dancing in their own ways. We may not fully understand it, but there is a subtle sense that the whole of existence is a celebration. I teach you celebration, and laughter is surely to be one of the main ingredients in this celebration.”
