Summary:
We at Cheffelo run 4 meal-kit brands across Scandinavia, and each week we deliver delicious meal-kits to thousands of customers who each have their own unique combination of preferences.
In order to provide customers a set of dishes that suits their needs, we manually create several menu concepts to cover different tastes. However, we see that customers have a growing expectation that the products and services they use are tailored to their needs, so we have developed a new product offering that is fully personalised to each customer's tastes and preferences.
To build this product, we had to entirely rethink our approach to creating a meal-kit, and develop a series of models in order to select a personalised set of dishes at scale.
In this talk I will talk through what the problem is we're trying to solve, how we designed and built the personalisation elements of this product, and what we learned along the way.

Hey, I'm Stephen. Since moving to Norway 7 years ago, I've worked within data roles for Sopra Steria, Elkjøp Nordic, Oda, and now as the Head of Data & Analytics at Cheffelo, the parent company behind 4 well known meal-kit brands across Scandinavia: GodtLevert, Adams Matkasse, Linas Matkasse and Retnemt.
In this role I get to lead an awesome team of 11 data professionals, where we build data products for our 300+ colleagues and thousands of customers across Scandinavia.
