Details
When working with data, we often want to create models to predict future events, but we also want an even deeper understanding of how our data is causally connected or structured. In this workshop, we will explore the connectedness of data using structural equation modeling (SEM) with the {lavaan} package.
If you want to actively follow the workshop, please have the R packages {lavaan} and {semPlot} installed. Because of the virtual format of the workshop, we will only have very limited capacities for helping with troubleshooting.
The speaker, Ronny Scherer, received his PhD from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin in 2012, and is currently working at the Centre for Educational Measurement, University of Oslo (CEMO). His research and teaching cover structural equation modeling, meta-analysis, computer-based assessments, and multilevel analysis. Ronny is coordinating the Measurement Models course at CEMO.
We look forward seeing all of you!
Update:
The packages used during the workshop is lavaan, semPlot, MPsychoR and corrplot. We recommend that you have these packages installed prior to the start of the workshop. Below is a line of code you can use.
install.packages(c("lavaan", "semPlot", "MPsychoR", "corrplot"))
We ask you to please follow Oslo UseR!’s zoom etiquette:
During the workshop, only the speaker shares video.
During the workshop, everyone except the presenter and the moderators are muted.
To communicate, please use the built in chat function in Zoom. Participants will get the chance to ask questions verbally if necessary as a follow-up. If possible, please share video when communicating verbally.
The event will be moderated by the Oslo UseR! team, and we will do our best to facilitate a good experience for everyone.
