In this monthly Community MeetUp, we will learn how to edit in OpenStreetMap, as well as observe the capability of InaSAFE, an opensource software that is built within Indonesia context and designed to develop scenario in contingency planning.
Learning how to edit in OpenStreetMap will be useful for you who hasn't understood the concept and method of contributing data to OpenStreetMap, or for you OpenStreetMappers who want to get even better in mapping within OpenStreetMap. In this session, you will learn how to use iDEditor (in-browser editor) and JOSM (Java OpenStreetMap) Editor.
What do you need for this session are laptop, mouse, and enthusiasm! :)
Apart from OpenStreetMap training, the trainer from Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team - Indonesia (HOT-ID) will also give a demo of an opensource software called InaSAFE (www.inasafe.org). This software has been developed by BNPB (Badan Nasional Penanggulangan Bencana), AIFDR (Australia-Indonesia Facility in Disaster Reduction), and GFDRR (Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery).
How does opensource GIS can help us in disaster management? Where is the position of OpenStreetMap in this matter? InaSAFE demo will show you the answer. :)
