on Sunday, Aug 31, 2025, we’re off for another adventure! This time we’ll explore beautiful trails near Bielefeld with some ups and downs, fresh air, and good company.
📍 Meeting point: 10:00 at Osnabrück Hbf – but of course, you’re free to join us at any station along the way.

🏰 Sparrenburg
🇩🇪 Die im 16. Jahrhundert erbaute Burg ist das Wahrzeichen Bielefelds. Von hier hat man einen weiten Blick auf die Stadt und den Teutoburger Wald. Besonders sehenswert: der 37 m hohe Burgturm (April–Oktober täglich 10–18 Uhr).

🇬🇧 Built in the 16th century, this castle is the landmark of Bielefeld. From here you can enjoy wide views over the city and the Teutoburg Forest. A must-see: the 37 m tower (open daily April–October, 10 am – 6 pm).

🗼 Aussichtsturm Eiserner Anton (Bismarckturm)
🇩🇪 1895 errichtet und 2003 restauriert – einer der wenigen metallischen Bismarcktürme. Von der 8 m hohen Plattform (42 Stufen) hat man eine schöne Sicht über den Teutoburger Wald.
🇬🇧 Built in 1895 and restored in 2003, this is one of the few metallic Bismarck towers. From the 8 m platform (42 steps) you get a fine view across the Teutoburg Forest.
🥵 Lämershagener Treppen
🇩🇪 120 ungleichmäßige Stufen, die es in sich haben – hier zeigt sich, ob man eher „Hermann“ oder „Weichei“ ist 😉.
🇬🇧 120 uneven steps that are quite a challenge – this is where you’ll find out whether you’re a “Hermann” (hero) or a “softie” 😉.
