First Pulsar India User Meet-up

Hello Pulsar Enthusiasts👋

We're thrilled to bring to you the first ever Apache Pulsar user group in India. With this, we intend to start a new series of events across India focused on data platforms and AI technologies. The idea is to bring together open source enthusiasts, learn from each other and network with the best in the industry. We intend to discuss streaming technologies, analytics databases, workflow management, AI and MLOps platforms to name a few.

We are kicking of with our first meetup on Apache Pulsar on June 14, 2023 at Nutanix Office at Prestige Tech Park, Outer Ring Road, Bangalore. We have the most illustrious speakers from Nutanix, DataStax and StreamNative. We will focus on use cases, design choices, adaptability and realtime AI pipelines. We prefer to have attendees join in-person. After all, the best learning and networking happens over a cup of tea/coffee :-)

1. Event Streaming- The stepping stone to realtime AI by Mukundha Madhavan
   Behind the chatGPT hype, there is another powerful trend playing out behind the scenes. More and more companies are making their AI pipeline as realtime as possible. More specifically, an AI system is considered offline if the decisions are based on relatively stale information. The need of the hour is to make ML systems based on data that is recent, relevant and contextual. This talk will present to you how you can run your realtime AI pipeline atop Apache Pulsar. The icing on the cake - we will also have a demo!
2. Apache Pulsar Design Choices and use-cases by Shivji Jha, Staff Engineer at Nutanix, Apache Pulsar Contributor
   In this talk, we will talk briefly about Apache Pulsar design we have come to love using Pulsar for over 4 years in production. We will cover segment oriented storage, multi-tenancy, Subscription Choices and use case modelling, client isolation and Geo Replication. We will then share some design patterns and use cases in which we have used Pulsar at Nutanix, challenges, learnings and what we look forward to when we envision the future of Apache Pulsar.
3. Swiss Knife Apache Pulsar by Vikas Dhadich, StreamNative
   With its distributed messaging and streaming platform, you would know how Apache Pulsar is a good choice; it highlights Apache Pulsar features and a quick guide for known streaming solution users, discussion on unified messaging, three levels of scalability, elasticity and durability.

Entry and Security Guidelines

1. Please report to the security at Prestige Tech Park (PTP) main gate. We will give them the list of attendees in advance so your entry is hassle free. If you plan to bring your vehicle, add in your vehicle number. We will instruct the security to help you with directions and parking.
2. Drive to Mercury Building in the Prestige Tech park.
3. If you bring your vehicle, park only at designated parking area directed by security.
4. A security Official will be at ground floor reception to guide you again.
5. Please visit 9th floor for security check-in. You will get a visitor card and guided entry to 10th floor (Nutanix Cafeteria) where we host the event.
