New Year's Day Vegan Brunch at All Vegan Pura Vita - Los Angeles

*** NEW YEAR’S DAY BRUNCH UPDATE ***

Café Gratitude was my first choice for brunch this year and I was so happy when I contacted the manager and they agreed to host us. This was weeks ago.

Neither of us expected the event to draw as much interest as it has, or that it is going to rain on New Year's Day.

The weather means that the café will not have use of its outdoor space and will find it tricky to seat and serve all of us in a timely manner. There was a lot of back and forth about what to do and the options I was given by the manager were to split the event into two events an hour apart, or to have a pre-fixe family style meal, neither of which I was comfortable with.

I had a long think about this and then thought of the Italian vegan place we had brunch in last year, Pura Vita, who welcomed us when Real Food Daily had closed the day before.

So I called them and once again they agreed to host us last minute, no questions; the only caveat being such a large group is that the food may take a little longer than usual to arrive. I told them this was fine. (I love this place!)

So that's the story. Our new reservation is for the same time, same day, at Pura Vita on Santa Monica Blvd.

My wish is just to spend the first day of the new year eating vegan food with like minded souls in one of my favourite cities.
