Beethoven, Brahms, Wienyavsky with Bibik Duo

Details
Bibik Duo presenting violin and piano recital at University of Ottawa, school of music! Professional classical musicians Natalia Bibik-Chabukiani, piano and Anna Baksheeva, violin are dedicating their time to learn and perfect works of greatest masters of sonata form. Beethoven’s Spring Sonata no.5 is one of the most frequently performed piece yet is loved by audience and is a must have piece in repertoire of any traditional duet. Johannes Brahms wrote his sonatas based on Beethoven’s lead in this genre, his structural and compositional techniques yet he stepped few miles ahead in his emotional and truly romantic capacities of both violin and piano. He expanded the range of colours in his sonata no.1 far and beyond Beethoven’s era, giving unique and deeply personal voices to both instruments without loosing touch with the traditional structure of the sonata form. Scherzo by Brahms is another example of excitement and exuberance, while musically quoting piano king of 19 century F. List, remembering Schumann and other romantic masters.
Polonaise by H. Wienyavsky will conclude the concert with traditional show off piece that every violinist plays during their life time. This piece is full of all the violin technical arsenal and doesn’t shy away from enjoying and bravely displaying it with Polish dance’s wit and charm.
