Important Note: All face to face meetups in this group are ON HOLD until the pandemic is over. And that means life is back to normal as it was before March 2020 when have a safe and effective vaccine. Until then we recommend that you enjoy hiking safely by yourself or with your household members while following public safety regulation only in an area where you can maintain psychical distancing .
We recommend staying away from any trails that can possible become crowded or where cannot maintain at least 2 meters physical distance in all distance in all directions.

Ottawa - Gatineau hiking of like-minded individuals to enjoy outdoor pursuits in each others company. Hiking, back country hiking are among the sanctioned events. Our hike leaders are all officially certified by Hike Ontario. Our hikes generally involve long distances and a number of our members RUCK on hikes.
Proper outdoor clothing, footwear such as sturdy hiking shoes / boots, are mandatory. For safety reasons and to ensure the smooth operation of the hike /walk, hike leaders may turn away those who appear to be poorly prepared for the activity or who arrive late. As per hike Ontario Policy no pets or anyone under 19 years old is not allowed on any under any circumstances, no exceptions.
Professional and commercial sponsors a would like to support our events and advertise should contact the group organizers. We are actively looking for sponsership.
For liability reason we request that you need to have your profile picture clearly showing your face. Your profile picture should have you alone without any other people or animals in the picture.

I acknowledge that this activity of The Ottawa Wilderness Adventure Club, in which I am participating, involves risks which are beyond the control of the Association. Notwithstanding the acknowledgement of such risks, I hereby release the Ottawa Wilderness Adventure club, Hike Ontario, and their contractors, employees, volunteers, agents, assigns and executors from all claims for damage however so arising as a result of my participation in this or any other activity organized by the club. I agree to pay the cost of any emergency evacuation of my person or belongings that may be necessary. I affirm that I am aware of the nature of the activity, the duration and degree of difficulty and that I am properly equipped and physically able to participate. I have no medical or other condition which might preclude my participation. As an adult, I accept responsibility for any person under 18 years of age in my care.
