Ottawa Introverts Club (ages 20-40)

For quiet souls who want to hang out and connect—without the pressure of small talk.

Do you enjoy walking, exploring new hobbies, or just hanging out, but find socializing a bit overwhelming? Are you within the ages of 20 to 40? You're not alone—and you're welcome here.

This group is designed for introverts, neurodivergent individuals (including those on the autism spectrum), and anyone ages 20-40 who finds small talk challenging but still wants to make meaningful connections. We meet a minimum of twice a month for varied hangouts in central Ottawa.

What to expect:

• Welcoming, low-pressure environment
• Walks in scenic, accessible locations
• Themed hangouts (board game nights, movie nights, etc.)
• Optional conversational prompts
• Respect for quiet and personal space
• Opportunities to make friends at your own pace

If you are introverted and want to meet others who understand the value of quiet companionship, we’d love to have you join us.

Here are a few important things to know:

🌱 Who This Group Is For
This group is geared toward adults (ages 20–40) who are introverts (or ambiverts!) who want to meet others in a low-pressure, inclusive environment. Many social groups in Ottawa cater to older adults, but we wanted to create something more relatable for younger introverts and neurodivergent folks.

🗓️ How to Join a Walk
To attend a walk, you must RSVP to the specific event on Meetup. This helps us keep an accurate headcount and ensures the group stays manageable and welcoming.

💧 What to Bring
For walks specifically, please come prepared with:

• A bottle of water or other fluids
• A light snack (like a granola bar)
• Weather-appropriate clothing and comfortable shoes

💬 Conversation & Quiet
Each walk includes optional discussion prompts to help break the ice, but quiet moments are absolutely welcome. Extroverts who sign up for this group should note that this is not a place for rambunctious conversation or loud socializing. Whether you’re here to chat or just enjoy the company of others in silence, you’re in the right place.

💸 Supporting the Group
There is a $3.80/month membership fee. This helps cover the Meetup.com subscription fee ($70.40 CAD). Extra funds will go towards future group activities and/or offerings. In addition, this fee helps encourage active participation in the group (i.e., it discourages no-shows).

🚫 Respect & Safety
This is not a dating or hookup group. If you form a genuine connection, that’s wonderful—but unsolicited advances or boundary-crossing behavior will not be tolerated. Please report any uncomfortable interactions to the group leader immediately. Anyone violating these expectations will be removed from the group.

We do not tolerate sexism, racism, homophobia, transphobia, or any form of hate speech. This is a safe space for everyone.
