OPAG Monthly Meeting: Python at The Ottawa Hospital Cancer Centre

Details
The Ottawa Hospital Cancer Centre (TOHCC) is a large modern clinic treating patients with both chemo & radiation therapy programs. In order to deliver high quality treatments to our patients the radiation therapy program spends a large amount of time and effort on quality control activities. In this talk I'll give a short background on radiation therapy, medical physics, and & TOHCC before discussing how the medical physics department at the hospital is using Python (Django, wxPython, SQLAlchemy etc.) to help manage our growing quality assurance program. Live demos of some of our software will also be included.
About the speaker:
Randle Taylor has a masters degree in medical physics and has been working as a Physics Associate in the Medical Physics Department at the hospital since 2010. Prior to that he spent 4 years working as a freelance software developer & research assistant.
