All of us have people in our lives that inspire us on the path. They could be a cherished spiritual guide, a family member or even a public figure.

In mahayana Buddhism, we recognize these guides and call them Bodhisattvas, which are enlightened beings that return to us to help us awaken. Usually, they don't even know they are Bodhisattvas. How do we know?

Each of us has the Buddha inside us. The Buddha recognizes them, even when we can't. We feel the energy of it. We feel when we have contact with them the inspiration to practice, the confidence that peace is possible for us and all beings. We feel the impulse to act, motivated by joy.

Conversely, there are lots of negative mind states that compel us to action we see people take advantage of. This is how we recognize a person like us, still working towards liberation.

In this meeting, we'll share our personal Bodhisattvas, which will in turn share their positive energy through us.
