| Rocket Experts Talk About a Century of Launches March 14 Event marks the 100th anniversary of modern rocketry and the future of spaceflight
SEATTLE, March 11, 2026—On March 14, three rocket experts join the Museum’s Space Curator to talk about the state of the art on the 100th anniversary of the first launch of a liquid fuel rocket. The conversation looks back at the historic March 16, 1926 rocket launch by American inventor Robert Goddard, surveys spaceflight today, and looks ahead at the upcoming NASA Artemis II Moon mission and the future of space exploration. The 2 p.m. program is free with Museum admission.
Panelists
Dr. Roger Myers
Dr. Roger Myers, has worked on in-space transportation, propulsion and power for over 35 years, having worked at the NASA Glenn Research Center and held various executive positions at Aerojet Rocketdyne. He currently advises multiple clients on space mission design, propulsion and power system technology and flight system development, business and program management, and employee development.
Victoria Wagner
Wagner was the Material Program Manager for all of the in-space propulsion on the Artemis missions, including components to the Crew Module, European Space Module, and the Jettison Motor.
Jack Poehlman
Jack Poehlman is the Vice President of the Washington Aerospace Club, the largest hobby rocketry club in Washington state. Poehlman helps guide launch operations, member programs, and community outreach. He is a life-long spaceflight enthusiast committed to promoting safe, hands‑on rocketry experiences and supporting the next generation of aerospace enthusiasts.
