Made you look again, huh? We are going to have a great holiday. We'll meet right outside the Visitor's Center of Grant's Tomb (Riverside Dr. and W. 122nd. St. - Take the 1, A, C, or D trains) at 10 AM. After exploring the center we'll pay our respects to the 18th President of the United States by visiting his tomb. There are no fees to visit the tomb. We will then get a quick bite for lunch. Then we are off to Highbridge Park (West 173rd. and Amsterdam Ave. We'll take the 1 Train to 168th St). After entering Highbridge Park we are in for a treat. The park is named for the High Bridge, which is part of the Old Croton Aqueduct and is the city’s oldest standing bridge. Beginning in 1842, the aqueduct ran 41 miles into the city, providing New York with its first reliable source of clean water. In 2015, the bridge reopened after a 40- year closure, once again connecting Manhattan and the Bronx. We will walk across High Bridge, taking in the sites and enjoying the views. All are welcome and bring a friend.
