RIDE THE STATEN ISLAND FERRY (FREE!) AND VISIT FORT WADSWORTH (FREE!)

When was the last time you were on the Staten Island Ferry? If it has been awhile or even if it hasn't, this Friday, July 4th, is a great opportunity to get out and explore Staten Island. We will meet in the outside seating area of the Whitehall Terminal(Manhattan - 4,5 Subway to Bowling Green; R,W,1 Subway to South Ferry). We will then board the Staten Island Ferry at 11:30 AM. Once on Staten Island we will make our way by bus to Fort Wadsworth. It is a historic site known for its panoramic harbor views and historic fort and battery infrastructure. We will enjoy the peaceful setting while learning about the history of the fort. We will then return to Manhattan by ferry. Those who wish are welcome to join us for a meal at an inexpensive restaurant. All are welcome and bring a friend.
