A GOOD WAY TO START THE NEW YEAR: MOVIE AND A WALK IN CENTRAL PARK
Details
Join us at 9:00 AM at AMC Lincoln Center (1998 Broadway at 68th St) for “The Testament of Ann Lee.” Here is what Rotten Tomatoes has to say about our movie: “From award-winning writer-director Mona Fastvold (The World to Come, The Brutalist) comes the extraordinary true legend of Ann Lee, founder of the devotional sect known as the Shakers. Academy Award nominee Amanda Seyfried stars as the Shaker's irrepressible leader, who preached gender and social equality and was revered by her followers. The Testament of Ann Lee captures the ecstasy and agony of her quest to build a utopia, featuring more than a dozen traditional Shaker hymns reimagined as rapturous movements.” There is already Oscar buzz for Amanda Seyfried. We will meet in the lobby at 8:45 AM. Our movie starts at 9:00 AM. After the movie we walk to 67th and Central Park West to begin our Central Park walk. We will meet on the benches right inside the entrance to the park at 67th and Central Park West at 12:30 PM. For those joining us for the walk we will meet you on the benches at 67th and Central Park West at 12:30 PM. After a brief stop at Strawberry Fields we move on to The Mall and Bethesda Terrace & Fountain. Our final stop on our walk today will be the Obelisk. For those who wish we will have lunch at an inexpensive restaurant. All are welcome and bring a friend.
