🔥 Carlingford Hike, Sauna & Picnic returns!

Join Out & Active NI for a full day of movement, relaxation, and good food in the beautiful surroundings of Carlingford. After such a brilliant response last time, we’re bringing this popular event back for another round.

This is a social, active day designed to bring together fresh air, scenic views, heat therapy, and time to unwind as a group.

We’ll begin with a moderate guided hike starting from Carlingford Main Car Park, taking in stunning views and enjoying steady movement through varied terrain.

After the hike, we’ll head to Hot Box Sauna at Carlingford Marina for a 45-minute sauna session in the early afternoon. The marina is approximately a 15-minute walk from the town centre but you can easily drive to it too.

Once we’re warmed up and relaxed, we’ll settle in for a picnic provided by Out & Active NI, along with tea and coffee. We’ll also bring along a few games, and you’re very welcome to bring your own to add to the fun.

🎒 What to Bring

🥾 Weather-appropriate layers and hiking shoes (mandatory)
💧 Water and snacks (lunch will be provided by O&A)
👕 A full set of dry clothes and shoes (in case of rain)
🩴 Swimsuit (appropriate for a public swimming pool setting), towel and flip-flops for the sauna
🎲 Any outdoors games you would like to bring along
☀️ A good attitude and sense of adventure

• If you can no longer attend, you must let the Out & Active NI organisers know in advance. This helps avoid wasted spaces and allows others the opportunity to attend.
