Join Out & Active NI for a scenic hike through the heart of the Sperrin Mountains, taking in one of Northern Ireland's most rewarding forest and summit routes. Starting from Gortin Glen Forest Park, we'll follow peaceful woodland trails before climbing towards Mullaghcarn, where spectacular panoramic views stretch across the Sperrins and beyond.
Along the way, we'll pass Darach the Giant, one of the iconic wooden sculptures of the Sperrins, before continuing through a mixture of forest paths, open hillside and scenic viewpoints. With a combination of woodland, mountain scenery and sweeping vistas, this hike offers a fantastic day out for anyone looking to explore one of Northern Ireland's hidden gems.

This hike is suitable for those with a moderate level of fitness. The route includes sustained uphill sections, uneven terrain and can be muddy or slippery in places, particularly after wet weather. Please ensure you are comfortable walking 14 km over varied terrain.
