What we’re about

Hey there! We're Out and About, a friendly bunch of LGBTQ+ folks who just want to hang out and explore Chicago together. Sometimes we're catching a comedy show and laughing until our faces hurt, sometimes we're grabbing drinks after work, and sometimes we're getting creative with art nights or checking out whatever theater show looks fun. No pressure, no pretense—just good people doing fun things around the city. Whether you're new to Chicago, new to the community, or just looking for more friends to do stuff with, you're welcome here. Come as you are, and let's have a great time exploring Chicago and meeting each other. See you out there! 🌈

Get ready to sleigh the season at the Fa La La Fabulous Holiday Market — a celebration of LGBTQ+ joy, creativity, and community! Our inaugural market will feature 40+ queer and ally-owned small businesses serving up the most festive holiday goods, gifts, and treats. Think one-of-a-kind finds with a whole lot of fabulous flair.
Every purchase helps power up local makers and supports the Center on Halsted—the Midwest’s leading LGBTQ+ community center, which provides life-changing health, wellness, and leadership programs to more than 19,000 individuals each year.
More than just a market, Fa La La Fabulous is a place to shop, connect, and celebrate our community this holiday season.
It is free to attend and all are welcome. Suggested donation is $5 at the door.

As your host I will be wearing a Christmas sweater and a Justin name tag.
After we can get some tea, coffee, or hot chocolate.
