“The Sandiaoling Waterfall Trail is named for three waterfalls, Hegu, Motian, and Pipa Cave, all three impressive, though the first can only be seen from a distance. It takes about two hours to get from Sandiaoling Railway Station to the last of the falls (about 2.5km). From there, most casual hikers will take the same route back, but for more adventurous types there are two alternative routes, one to Dahua, the next station on the Pingxi line, the other to Houtong, the station before Sandiaoling when coming from Taipei.”

Return to: 👉 Taipei Main Station

We will meet at Taipei Main Station, North Door 1 (outside McDonald’s) at 08:00. We will wait 10 minutes for everyone to arrive and then go to take the 8:15 train (4154) and then 4156 from Ruifang to Sandiaoling (second from last carriage). It takes about 1 hour 33 minutes. We will hike the Sandiaoling Trail and then the Chailiao Historic Trail to Houtong cat village. We can eat together when we reach Houtong cat village.

🌟 Meet-Up Time: We're meeting at 8:00am, and we'll wait for registered folks for at least 10 minutes.
🌟 Dress Code: Parts of this hike can be a bit tricky, so please dress sensibly.
🌟 Finish Time: We aim to wrap things up by around 2pm. After that, it’s chow time in Houtong.
🌟 RSVP: If this hiking bash tickles your fancy, please RSVP as soon as you can. Only RSVP if you're definitely coming, and if you can't make it, let us know ASAP.
