Minibus trip, Norfolk Coast 9 miles easy - Day Trip

Join us for a day trip out of Cambridge to the Norfolk Coast. We will start in Snettisham before making our way through Frogpits wood and the Lodgehill Plantation. Our journey takes us across the marshland where waterfowl nest and many sea birds can be seen.

Crossing Heacham dam we then walk along Snettisham beach where we will stop for Lunch. A comfort break is available at the beach cafe.

We continue our walk through RSPB Snettisham. During high tides, especially during spring tides, tens of thousands of birds such as Knots, Dunlins, and Oystercatchers are pushed closer to the beach, creating a spectacular display known as the "whirling wader spectacle." This event features thousands of birds taking to the air, creating a mesmerizing sight with their synchronized movements and calls.

We then pass through the lagoons, salt marsh, and mudflats which provide panoramic views of the saline lagoons, salt marsh, and mudflats.

Finally we start our return inland towards Dersingham, crossing meadows and woodland before returning to Snettishham via Southgate.

GETTING THERE
We will travel in a Minibus. 08:00 St Pauls Church, 08:30 Trumpington Park and Ride. Journey time 1hr20 mins. Return trip £12. For those who prefer to drive you can meet us at the Queen Victoria Pub PE31 7LW at 9:50. Please leave a comment if you are planning to bring your own car, so we can adjust the RSVP numbers accordingly.

WHAT TO BRING
A packed lunch and water, we will stop at the the pub in Snettisham Beach for a comfort break at Lunchtime. Toilets are also available at the Snettisham.
