Cathy has 764 public steps—36 flights of enjoyment, depending on your definition of enjoyment. Come admire the Cathedral of Learning from the inside while giving your legs something to discuss later.
Walk straight up and take the elevator down, or try four flights up and three down for a breather. Repeat as you like. The elevator is a legitimate transportation choice, not an admission of defeat.
We’ll start together, but everyone climbs at her own comfortable pace. Take breaks, do as much as suits you, and leave a little ambition for another day.
We’ll regroup at 10:45 a.m. in the Commons Room to socialize. Afterward, we can continue our visit with Cathy by exploring the lower floors and admiring the architecture—with considerably less vertical commitment.
This is likely to be a recurring event as it is great dependable indoor exercise with a lovely socialization space.
