We begin our journey in Addis Ababa, flying south into Ethiopia’s wild frontier — where the asphalt ends and the red dust of Africa begins. The convoy of rugged 4x4s rolls through coffee highlands, misty mountains, and open savannahs until we reach the first frontier — the land of the Suri, known for their striking body art and ancient stick-fighting rituals.

From there, the road turns to wilderness. We cross rivers, camp by the Kibish under endless skies, and wake to the sound of cattle bells in the valley. Each stop brings a new world — the Hamar, Karo, Arbore, and Dassanach tribes — each with their own rhythm, colours, and traditions.
Markets thrum with drums and barter. Children race the trucks. The Omo River glows gold at sunset as we sit around the fire, trading stories with locals who’ve guided National Geographic and Discovery Channel crews through these same lands.

By the time we circle back north, you’ll have driven nearly 950 km across Africa’s most remote corridor — and come home with more than photographs. You’ll have memories carved deep into your bones and a crew that feels like family.
