Join me for a 2 day paddling trip from Dingman’s Ferry to Smithfield Beach (21 miles) along the Delaware River in PA. Please note, this adventure will not be a guided tour and we will be paddling as a group. You have the option to choose between either a 2 person canoe (you must arrange for a partner) or a single kayak.
Whatsapp chat:
We will meet at Smithfield Beach (River Rd, East Stroudsburg, PA.18302) at 8:30 AM. This means leaving NYC around 6:45 AM. From there, it takes about 30 minutes to drive up river to the drop off location. Please have your clothes and all items/bag ready for the river on Saturday morning. Waivers are required for this event which are signed at the boat launch. Deadline to register/pay is 7/18/25 (Friday) by 3:00 PM.
Cost/Sign up info including taxes and fees plus cost for camping permit:
$116 per person for Canoers/Kayakers if you opt to start on Saturday for a 1 night trip.
Please send your payment via Venmo to @Bobbisue-I and also SPECIFY whether you are renting a canoe or kayak in the venmo comment. If in a canoe, please state whom your canoe partner is. If you have a car to drive, please also specify that you can be a driver.
I will post a Google doc /sheet for carpool here.
The river section we will do is 21 miles that is typically very calm but there are a few sections of “Class I rapids”. This is an entry level trip everyone should be able to enjoy even if you do not have prior paddling experience.

We will camp at a designated campsite along the riverfront Saturday evening. It is a primitive campsite, so there is no electricity or official bathroom. Please bring your own toilet paper / garbage bag / food / tent / hammock / necessities. Each person is responsible to carry their own gear to the site in their chosen voyage vessel and be prepared to set up your own camp. You will be responsible for your own garbage. WHAT YOU PACK IN WILL BE WHAT YOU PACK OUT. Waste baskets are not available.
If you cancel, there will ONLY be a 50% refund.
Please text 406-380-0471 with any questions or post in whatsapp group.
There is a separate $10 cash per car per day ($20 total for Sat/Sun) parking fee at Smithfield Beach where we will need to leave our cars. Driver's- please discuss this with your passengers to split the cost.
